Riley decides to try being evil and eats the cookie that Zay received from his grandma before he can eat it. Everyone except Smackle repeats, “Cookie day.” Smackle asks, “What the f–” Farkle covers her mouth. Zay Babineaux walks in and announces that it’s cookie day. Smackle agrees, saying, “Reality’s only as powerful as you let it be. When Lucas says there are no dues, Maya tells him, “Quiet.” Farkle tells Riley not to let reality change her. Maya says they started a club to protect her called The Riley Committee. Lucas Friar says that they do and Farkle says that they try to keep it from her. Riley is stunned.Īt the cafe, Riley asks the others if they know about climate change, poverty and war. After Riley admits that she doesn’t, Maya shows her the headlines for the day. Maya asks Riley if she ever looks at the news. This upsets Riley more and she takes the sweater off and throws it out the window. When Riley gets upset, Maya points out that Riley is wearing a wool sweater. She shows Riley a picture of a sheep that’s been sheared. Maya tries to ease Riley into the idea that there’s evil in the world. When everyone else has left the classroom, Riley asks Maya Hart, “How could people possibly be evil?” Maya says, “I don’t know, man.” She looks around and then steals the classroom printer. Farkle explains the concept of “polar oscillation in orbital motion.” Smackle asks, “Is it hot in here? It’s hot in here.”Īfter Farkle effectively argues for the other side, Cory tells the class, “As you continue to grow, you’ll find a benefit to understanding the other side of an argument.”Ĭory gives Riley the assignment to argue that people are inherently evil. He says, “Riley.” She responds, “Cory.” Zay says, “I love this class so much.”Ĭory asks Riley and Farkle to switch sides. When Cory Matthews says that Farkle won the debate, Riley tries to argue and say that she believes in her position strongly so how can she be wrong. When it’s Farkle’s turn, he says, “First of all, let’s understand that ‘day’ and ‘night’ are merely words invented by human beings to communicate simple conceptual constructs apropos of nothing.” Isadora Smackle gets excited and says, “Ooh!” Farkle smile at her and repeats, “Apropos.” She says, “Rawr!” She argues that the sun obviously shines during the day. At the end of the episode, we found out that Farkle didn’t have Asperger’s, but another classmate did.Girl Meets World season 3 episode 11 opens with Riley debating with Farkle Minkus in class. Many people think this was the show’s way of saying that autism is a bad thing. When Farkle told his friends that he might have ASD, they kept shutting him down and told him he couldn’t possibly have it. One of the scenes involved Farkle getting evaluated for Asperger’s syndrome, which is a condition on the autism spectrum.
